Verizon’s received a lot of negative attention recently due to its net neutrality announcement with Google, and we’re not going to suggest anyone ignore that fact. However, developers who still think Verizon’s user base is worth taking into account should know that the second annual Verizon Developer Community Conference has been scheduled.
The event will take place on September 21st and 22nd in Las Vegas at the ARIA Resort and Casino. As for the subject matter, it’s supposed to focus on the creation of new mobile apps.
John Stratton, Verizon’s chief marketing officer, believes the conference will turn out to be a big deal, too. “Our VDC Conference brings developers, network and technology experts, and OEMs together to talk about what’s going on in the app space now and to brainstorm and plan for what’s next,” he said in a statement.
Stratton then continued, “It’s an especially exciting time with the imminent launch of our 4G LTE network and the proliferation of apps for consumers and businesses.”
Have fun if you go – Las Vegas is a great city – and if you can’t make it, well, you can at least figure you’ve saved quite a few bucks.
