Some developers whose work arguably goes beyond simple wallpaper apps or even complicated games are being recognized for their work today. TradeStation has announced the winners of its TradeStation 9.0 Developer Challenge.
Since TradeStation is a broker and futures commission merchant, this contest required developers to make something that people interested in finances might find useful. An official statement explained, “Submissions were judged on the use of innovative analysis techniques to create added value for TradeStation clients, overall ease of use, and clear documentation.”
Apparently the contest generated quite a few useful tools, as well. TradeStation named ten different products (created by eight different people) as winners. The folks behind them were Harrison Cai, Chris Cheatam, Marlin Cobb, Domenico Derrico, George Ferguson, Andreas Jaek, Lee Leibfarth, and David O’Dell.
Prizes included $3,000 cash and some time in the spotlight during a TradeStation-hosted seminar, by the way.
One last note: anyone who’s interested in becoming a TradeStation developer (and perhaps winning the company’s next Developer Challenge) can research the role here.
