Sports Car Vinyl Wrap

I love Sports Cars and Gaming so Today I decided to Merge the two. We are going to make a vinyl wrap that can be used on any Vechicle.

I will provide you with everything you need. First Download Asset01 this is the image of the Lamborghini Gallardo

Next Download Asset02 and Asset03. These will be used as the wraps for the front and side.

Open your Asset01 this will serve as the for the project.

Next Open your Asset02 and Asset03 and minimize them in photoshop, we will be useing them shortly

Alright, Now take your Asset02 and add it to the main image

Next we need to wrap the file so it blends with the angle the car is facing. Go to Edit > Transform > Warp. Set your layer fill to 50% so you can see everything under the image and wrap it to something near the shape below.

Once you are satisfied hit enter to commit the warp. Now grab your pen tool and make a selection of the hood. Then go to your paths palette and CTRL+click to make a selection. Set the layer to 100% fill.

Next cut the selection from Asset02. Set the new layer to Linear dodge (Add). Then Reset the Asset02 layer to 50% fill and make a selection of the emblem on the hood and remove it.

Next make a selection of the front panel.

Again cut out the selection from the Asset02 and set the blend to Linear dodge (Add). Now grab your eraser tool and select a soft brush and set the Opacity to 30%. Remove the edges on the side and bottom of the front panel like below.

Then make a seletion of the grills in the front panel.

Cut the selections again from the Asset02. Set the layer to normal and 10% fill.

Make a selection of the small panels under each head light.

Cut the selections again from the Asset02. This time set the layer to normal and 35% fill.

Now that the front panel is done we can move on to the side ofr the car. So now add your Asset03 to the main file and rotate the asset to 25%. Scale the asset down so it fits better over the car.

Again make a selection of the front panel.

Cut the selection out of the new asset layer. Now grab your eraser tool and select a soft brush and set the Opacity to 30%. Set the layer to Linear Dodge (Add) at 50% fill. Blend the layer using your eraser like below.

Next Make a select of the Front quarter Panel.

Cut out the selection from the Asset03 and set the blend to Linear dodge (Add) and Opacity to 60%.

Now make a selection of the Driverside Door. Remember not to include the Side Mirror or Door Handle.

Again make the selection an new layer. Set the blend to Linear dodge (Add) and Opacity to 60%.

Now we need to make a seletion of the rear panel including the panel over the door.

Make A copy of the selection. Set the blend to Linear dodge (Add) and Opacity to 50%. Now grab your eraser tool and select a soft brush and set the Opacity to 30%. Blend in the rear and over door selection like below.

We are almost done with the Wrap now. Next mekw a selection of the rear grill

Cut the seletion to a new Layer. Set the blend to Linear dodge (Add) and Opacity to 10%.

Alright, You’re done with the Vinyl Wrap now let’s add some window tints. This will give the car a cooler look and I really just like tinted windows. Make a selection of the Driver Side windows.

Make a New layer and fill it with Black. Set the fill to 62%.

Next Make a Windshield Visor Selection.

Make a New layer and again fill it with Black. Set the Layer to Overlay. Now add a Drop Shadow. Set the Shadow Blend mode to overlay, Opcaity of 75%, the angle to 30, and the size to 8.

Finally make a Selection of the entire Windshield.

Make a New layer and again fill it with Black. Set the Layer to Overlay and the fill to 55%. And you are done. Enjoy. Here is the 1600 x 1200 Wallpaper version if you like.
