Here’s another encouraging piece of information for smartphone app developers who aren’t yet seeing as much money as they’d like: a firm called research2guidance believes the market for such apps will be worth about $15.65 billion in three years’ time.
research2guidance thinks this will in part occur because there should simply be an astounding number of smartphones in circulation by the time the end of 2013 rolls around. Globally, it expects that 970 million people will be using smartphones at that point.
That’s equal to about three times the current population of the U.S., and since not everyone in the U.S. owns a cell phone right now, should represent an even wealthier group of people. Which is great news for developers, since these folks are then less likely to leave their phones bone stock.
What’s more, people who are developers now will have a leg up on those who join the field just as the money starts to really flow in.
