Samsung Starts $2.7M Dev Challenge

Samsung wants a mobile operating system called bada to get off to a good start, and before long, a whole lot of developers will, too.  Samsung’s decided to put up $2.7 million in prize money for the bada Developer Challenge.

The basic purpose of the bada Developer Challenge is to have people make applications that will run on bada.  Registration starts today, and then the contest will run for six months, with two three-month rounds.  The top prize will be an impressive $300,000, with $100,000, $60,000, $40,000, $30,000, and $8,000 prizes also up for grabs.

Plus, developers who live in China, France, the Philippines, Poland, Russia, Singapore, or Vietnam are supposed to have even more opportunities to win something.

This is definitely a contest that’s worth looking into.  Good luck if you decide to participate.
