RIM Announces First Developer Conference In Asia

At times, it can be a bit inconvenient to live off the beaten path, and when it comes to major conferences, people often have to undertake very expensive trips unless they already live in California or New York.  However, RIM’s looking to accommodate a different audience in January by holding its first-ever developer conference in Asia.

BlackBerry DevCon Asia will take place in Bali, Indonesia on January 13th and 14th.  RIM said in a statement, “Attendees will have the opportunity to join over 40 keynote, breakout and hands-on sessions that will showcase how developers can best use a range of tools and services to create innovative and commercially successful apps on the BlackBerry platform.”

Otherwise, potential attendees may be interested to know that speakers will include Gregory Wade (a managing director), Tyler Lessard (a VP), Mike Kirkup (a director), and Chris Smith (a senior director).

One last important detail: the conference pass fee is $200.

Have fun if you decide to attend.  Consider scheduling an extra day or two in Indonesia to see the sights as long as you’re there, too.
