Qualcomm Releases AR SDK

The selection of toys available to Android developers increased again yesterday.  Qualcomm released its Augmented Reality Software Developer Kit, and for what it’s worth, encouraged everyone to get to work with it.

Qualcomm did give developers some good reasons to mess around with its AR SDK.  Reason number one: it’s free.

Also, a statement issued by the company claimed, “Qualcomm’s SDK will enable a new breed of applications that delivers interactive 3D experiences on everyday objects, such as 3D gaming experiences on tabletops and interactive media experiences on product packaging and promotional items.”

Jay Wright, the company’s director of business development, then added, “Qualcomm is making it easy for developers to create interactive 3D content for the real world.”

So Android developers might want to take a look, considering that this sort of tech has a very real “cool factor.”
