It’s a simple fact that, while some developers work on uncomplicated games, others do things related to important – even sensitive – data. And it’s for those people that a group of IT security companies have arranged to hold a workshop on Protection Profile development.
Apex Assurance, Aspect Labs, atsec information security, Cygnacom, and EWA are behind this push, and the workshop will take place in San Francisco during the RSA Conference, meaning developers may be able to combine trips and save a little money.
As for some more specific information about the target audience, an official statement explained, “This event is aimed at experts in information security with good knowledge of Common Criteria, who are engaged in developing Protection Profiles as part of their professional activities.”
The statement also announced, “The workshop will include round-table discussions on topics related to protection profiles, eliciting industry knowledge and experience on topics such as FIPS 140-2 in Common Criteria, and information on the subject of composition of security assurance.”
The workshop will cost $200, and will take place on Tuesday, February 15th from 9 AM to 5 PM. A reception is then supposed to follow.
