OpenFeint X Debuts To Aid Developers

Some iPhone developers who want a little help making social games can now get it courtesy of Aurora Feint and OpenFeint X.  OpenFeintX opened today in private beta, and is designed to aid in the creation of free-to-play games involving microtransactions and virtual goods.

Aurora Feint Executive Chairman Peter Relan explained in a statement, “OpenFeint X is the culmination of bringing the best of Xbox Live and Facebook’s App Platform to the iPhone, and extending the multi-billion dollar virtual goods social gaming economy to mobile.”

He then made the rather bold proclamation, “OpenFeint X is the platform on which the next big social gaming companies will be created.”

That sounds pretty encouraging.  Developers who are able to become part of the private beta should do so, and everyone else can take comfort in the fact that OpenFeint X should be made available to the public over the next few months.
