Nokia Showers Developers With Free Devices

Members of the Nokia Launchpad program are in for a pleasant surprise.  Nokia’s started to send out emails indicating that it’ll give them free devices in a more or less open attempt to keep them developing apps for its ecosystem.

The email in part states, “To assist you with your development activities in the near-term, we will ship one free Nokia E7 device to all program members.  Additionally, we will send to you one free Nokia WP7 device, as soon as it becomes available.”

The email offers free admission to the next Nokia World/Nokia Developer Summit, as well.

This is a smart strategy, as giveaways have a real ability to influence people.  Folks will stand around for hours for a shot at some car that shouldn’t even be produced, or share all their contact info on the off chance they’ll get a television that looks like absolute crap.

Hat tip goes to Chris Davies, and here’s hoping one of Nokia’s emails shows up in your inbox.
