Next Year's Game Developers Conference Scheduled

The 2011 Game Developers Conference is over, and by all accounts, it was a huge success.  The organizers announced today that a record 19,000 professionals attended, in fact.  And the organizers also announced the dates of the next conference, if you’d like to start clearing your calendar and getting deals on flights and hotels.

An official statement on the subject indicated, “Following the success of the show, Game Developers Conference organizers have announced that GDC 2012 will return to the Moscone Convention Center in San Francisco from Monday, March 5 to Friday, March 9, 2012, – with a call for lecture submissions to open this summer.”

Then, although not much else is known right now, the statement indicated that more information will be available here in the future.

As for a few more details about the 2011 conference, it attracted people from Rockstar, Rovio, and Zynga.  The president of Nintendo made an appearance, as well, along with Tom Hall, John Romero, and Will Wright.

So look for the 2012 event to be even bigger and better, since it’s a good bet most attendees will return and many new faces will appear.
