Here’s yet one more fact to store away for the next time it feels like there isn’t any money in being a developer: this week, News Corp. bought game developer Irata Labs.
Terms haven’t been disclosed, so it’s hard to say just how rich everybody got. But it’s important to remember that this is News Corp. – which owns Fox, MySpace, and the Wall Street Journal, among many other things – so it’s a good bet lots of cash was involved.
Also, it’s not quite like Irata was a hundred-person company in which everybody had been toiling away for decades. Instead, the organization was just a three-man firm founded in 2005.
Congratulations to Irata Labs, and here’s hoping many more developers are offered similar deals as the economy continues to recover.
