Syncro Soft, the privately owned software company who is known for their expertly written XML programs, has released a new version of their editing and authoring systems. They’re both called Oxygen XML Editor, and Oxygen XML Author respectively. Oxygen acts as a CSS based visual XML editor, with support for these frameworks: DITA, DocBook, TEI, and XHTML. These XML Schema languages are also supported: XSLT/XQuery Debuggers, WSDL analyzer, XML Databases, XML Diff and Merge, Subversion client.

Syncro Soft has just issued a press release with the latest version, 11.1, showing off new XML editing and authoring capabilities. First, the XML authoring uses new schema for assiting with editing. These new features should provide a deeper, and more engaging experience. All the while helping to keep your documents valid.

Tags are being represented in a whole new way, with a lighter more compact navigation scheme. Upon use, there should be an obvious improvement in usability. The XML editor itself is compatible with any XQJ XQuery processor. Error levels and external references will be specified for various Schematron messages. XProc support has also been improved which will allow for better editing and execution.

DTD/schema information will be usable with the XML format, this feature should provide better formatting. The find and replace function is now XML-aware and will recognize XPath, which will assist with expanding search functions.

With the new 11.1 versions release, Syncro Soft has listed various packages with a scalable price range:

Oxygen XML Editor and XSLT Debugger is available immediately in three editions:
