Microsoft has partnered with another automotive manufacturer, KIA, to bring voice recognition computing to drivers on the road. UVO is a KIA technology falling under the ‘Microsoft Embedded Technologies’ banner.
UVO is short for “Your Voice” and provides drivers many voice/touch options while driving. UVO is directly linked to all your media related devices: radio, CD player, USB media players. Along with your media, the UVO can be used to receive and place calls. UVO uses Bluetooth to directly connect with mobile handsets.
The video shows off many of the features found in UVO. While Microsoft Sync packs more features, the UVO will be more affordable and fit better with the KIA brand. UVO will be available some time in the fall.
