Michael Vick Website Header

In this Photoshop Tutorial we will be making a Website Header with star athlete Michael Vick in it.

Step 1:
Start off by making a new document (Ctrl + N) and make it 800 x 220.

Step 2:
Now grab the Gradient Tool (‘G’) and make it a black to white to black gradient. Drag the Gradient Tool from the left to the right, and this should make kind of a spotlight in the middle of the image, as seen below:

Step 3:
Create a new layer (Shift + Ctrl + N) and fill it with Red (#FF0000). Set this new layer to Overlay, and now the spotlight should be red.

Step 4:
Then I went on a couple of sites looking for a nice render to add in, so I went to PlanetRenders.net and searched for “Football” and found this (http://planetrenders.net/renders/displayimage.php?pos=-12440) a ice image of Michael Vick. Download that, cut it out with Polygonal Lasso Tool, and add it to the middle of the image, as seen below:

Step 5:
Now it is time to add the text to this image. I searched for a nice font at DaFont.com and found a font by the name of “Blue Highway” which can be found at http://www.dafont.com/blue-highway.font. I installed the font and typed a couple of things as seen on the image below:

Now to make the text look the same as mine apply some of the settings below:

and you are done! Your image should look similar to mine which can be seen below:
