There was excellent news for the Android platform today as AdMob released some stats about how many iPhone developers plan to pay attention to it. The main finding: a significant majority of them will, as over 70 percent of respondents said they’ll develop for Android in the next six months.
This is, at least to some degree, also good news for Android developers. After all, the existence of a wide range of apps is important to the success of Android and any single app, since no one would want to buy a phone for which just one or two apps are available.
The downside is that this willingness of iPhone developers to look at Android will translate into increased competition, so Android developers will have to try harder to stand out in a crowd.
What will perhaps be key is just how much attention these iPhone developers devote to Android – whether they create one app each or push out dozens.
