Hi5 isn’t Facebook. For that matter, it’s not MySpace, or even LinkedIn. But Compete indicates that Hi5 saw about 2.3 million unique visitors in May, which means that the social network is of a respectable size and the new Hi5 Developer Portal is probably worth a look.
Before going much further, we’d like to note that Hi5’s CEO, Alex St. John, recently engaged in a bit of sumo wrestling for the sake of promoting his company. And that kind of dedication really does deserve some attention. (The matches weren’t of the guy-sponsoring-them-gets-an-easy-win variety.)
So to return to the subject of the Hi5 Developer Portal, its homepage explained, “This developer portal is designed to expedite the deployment and launch of your game on hi5.com. Here you can find all the necessary information for how to integrate, promote and monetize your game to hi5’s massive global audience.”
The process isn’t that complicated, though, involving just eight steps.
So developers should definitely considering spinning out an app or two for Hi5. Consider it payment for the sumo wrestling entertainment, if you like.
