Well, so much for the idea that the Android Market would stay in perfect working order for a while after the mishap involving disappearing apps. Still, Google’s at least communicated with developers a little as a problem related to download counts cropped up.
Tim Bray wrote on the Android Developers blog Saturday morning, “Something is apparently wrong in the Android Market. We are getting multiple reports of erroneous download counts. The right people are aware of the situation and are working on it.”
Granted, that first sentence is discouraging, but the last sentence is much better, and Bray gets lots of bonus points for tending to this on the weekend.
Indeed, errors don’t last forever, so the change in Google’s communication style is perhaps the bigger story here.
