Google Invests In Game Developer

Here’s some good news for any game developers who are feeling unappreciated: at least in a general sense, the search giant Google feels what you’re doing is important.  Google Ventures reportedly proved this by giving game developer Ngmoco something like $3-$5 million in funding.

Interestingly, the investment isn’t any sort of slap in the face of developers who don’t support Android.  It’s in fact more of a wave at them, since Ngmoco is best known for its iPhone and iPad games.

The investment is liable to spur a lot more interest in Android on Ngmoco’s part, however, so there’s in a sense something for everyone here.

Anyway, to return to the financial side of this development, Jason Kincaid reported, “The investment valued ngmoco well above $100 million, we’ve heard.  This comes on top of a $25 million Series C round ngmoco closed in February.”

So as we’ve seen before, there’s a lot of money to be made in developing games.
