Google APIs and HTML5 for Mobile Development

Adrian Graham, co-founder of Nextstop, who will be presenting at Google I/O later this month has a post up on the Google Code Blog talking about HTML5 and Google APIs, and how they made Nextstop’s mobile experience possible.

While HTML5’s video features get a great deal of the attention, it is three other features that Graham says are the most useful for mobile web development. These are:

1. Prefetching using LocalStorage
2. Geolocation
3. App Caching

The technologies get more interesting when you combine them with Google APIs like Google Maps API V3, Google Analytics, and Google Local Search API, says Graham.

Read the post here for Graham’s explanation of why these are useful. It’s part of a series Google is running on Who’s @ Google I/O.
