Facebook to Take Applicants for Preferred Developer Program

Facebook has launched a Preferred Developer Consultant Program, which is aimed at hooking up companies with the developers that can help them build apps. Right now there are 14 companies and individuals that are members.

“These consultants are well-versed in building Facebook integrations and offer solutions ranging from contests, polls and campaigns to deeply integrated social experiences,” says Facebook’s Kristin Thayer. “We hope that by providing a directory of companies who have a history of creating flagship applications, we will help you get started, employ best practices, and enhance existing experiences.”

The companies that have earned preferred status have built Facebook apps fro companies like Red Bull, McDonald’s, MTV, and Disney.

Facebook will open the program to new applicants in 2010. Those interested are encouraged to email [email protected] The requirements are discussed here.
