Facebook Tries To Confirm Dev Accounts

A slight inconvenience now may be worth a significant number of new users later for Facebook developers.  Facebook has decided to ask developers to confirm their accounts in order to cut down on application spam and build user trust.

There are very few hoops to jump through here – just one, actually.  Facebook will let developers continue with their work after simply providing a mobile phone number or a credit card number (and Facebook promises not to charge the credit card).

Then we should all see fewer applications that make people swear off apps forever as a result.

Be aware that you’ll encounter an extra step the next time you to try to create a Facebook app, then, but also know that it’s for a good cause.
