Easy Decorative Glassy Orb

This looks pretty neat just from using blend options but I think it could use more.

The Next thing I will do is use the elliptical marquee tool to draw a series of ovals above the main layer to give it the glassy look.

So start a new layer and by using the elliptical marquee tool draw something similar to this:

We are going to fill this with a radial gradient as well except choose these colors:

Now fill that with the gradient to look similar to this:

Now set the layer blending mode to linear dodge or to any other that you like and set the opacity at 90%:

The result should look like this:

Now make a new layer and draw another circle and choose these colors for the gradient fill:

Fill the circle similar to this:

On this one just set the opacity to 27%.

My result:

I am going to add a few effects using some special effects brushes and scattering options through my brush pallette. I am not going to go over this, but if anyone would like me to let me know and I will add on to this tutorial or do another one.

My Final Result:

You could make smaller versions of this method and use it as buttons for a website, logos, welcome page, or many other things.
