In this tutorial you will learn how to update an older logo to look like the
Web 2.0 style.

Web 2.0
| Although the term suggests a new version of the World Wide Web, it does not refer to an update to Web technical specifications, but to changes in the ways software developers and end-users use the web as a platform. According to Tim O’Reilly, “Web 2.0 is the business revolution in the computer industry caused by the move to the internet as platform, and an attempt to understand the rules for success on that new platform.Rule #1: Never use your original file to work on in PhotoShop. Duplicate your image in a New layer and work on the copy. This way if you make a mistake you can always start again. I will give you the PhotoShop file to work with. Step 1: Cloud Filter
| Choose Window>Layers or hit F7. The first thing you’re going to want to do is Ctrl-click the W the layer of the image to create a selection then go to Select>Modify>Contract. Contract the selection 5 pixels. |

| Then go to Select>Save Selection and name it inner. Make a new layer and fill the selected area with black. You will now have two layers in your layers palette. Double-click Layer 1 and rename it Cloud. |
| With the Cloud layer selected (1) in your layers palette, choose Filter>Render> Diference Clouds hit Ctrl-F twice. (2) Hit Ctrl-U make sure colorize box is check make the Saturation slider at 100%. Then you can change the Hue to whatever you like. |

Step 2: Chrome
| Again create a new layer by hitting Ctrl-J. Double-click the new layer and rename it Chrome. |
| (1) Choose Filter>Sketch>Chrome put the settings at: Detail: 10 Smoothness:5 and hit enter. Hit Ctrl-I to invert the color and (2) set the layer type to “screen.” |

Step 3: Plastic Wrap
| Again create a new layer by hitting Ctrl-J. Double-click the new layer and rename it Plastic Wrap. |
| With the Plastic Wrap layer selected (1) in your layers palette, choose Filter>Artistic>Plastic Wrap. Hit Ctrl-F to give it some more lighting.(2) Set all the setting to maximum (or whatever looks good to you) (3) Change the layer type to “Hard light ” and set the opacity to 30%. |

Step 4: Walkman
| Choose Window>Layers or hit F7. The first thing you’re going to want to do is Ctrl-click the Walkman layer of the image to create a selection then go to Select >Modify> Contract. Contract the selection 5 pixels. |

| Then go to Select>Save Selection and name it inner2. Make a new layer and fill the selected area with black. Double-click Layer 1 and rename it Walkman Cloud. |

Step 5: Walkman Chrome and Plastic Wrap
| Repeat Steps 2 –3 on the Walkman Cloud Layer. |

The last step is to remove all the color splotches that do not belong and
add a border.
Step 6: Adding Company Slogan
| The last step is adding your own company slogan. I choose “Digitize your world” |
