Use Photoshop to create a crumpled paper efect.

1.) Open your image and make sure the it is not flattened and all of the elements are on a single layer.

Then adjust your canvas size Image > Canvas Size to add 25 or 50 pixels to each side of the image, leaving a transparent border.

2.) Go to the Layers palette and add a new layer. Now go to Filter > Render > Clouds.

3.) Now go to Filter > Render > Difference Clouds, and apply it four to six times using ctrl+F until you get an interesting texture.

4.) Choose Filter > Stylize > Emboss and apply the settings below

5.) Now drag this layer over the “New Layer” icon to create a duplicate layer.

6.) On this new layer go to Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur and apply the following setting

7.) With this layer still selected save a your project in the .PSD format

8.) Select your bottom layer and go to Filter > Distort > Displace. Apply settings below.

9.) When you hit OK, the open dialog box will pop up and you need to select the file PSD file you just saved.

10.) Now move the bottom layer above the second layer

11.) ctrl+click the layer to make a selection and then invert the selection, move to the bottom layer and hit delete

12.) Set the middle layer to overlay

You should end up with something like this

Or you can convert it to black and white
