Creating Dark Banner

In this tutorial I will show you how to make a professional dark banner that can be used in a various abouts of things including a signature, header, or any sort of new age design.

First open up Photoshop and make a new file. The size I choose was 600x130pixels.

Now get out the Rounded Rectangle Tool and make a new layer after that make a rectangle within the document you just made.

Now right click the rectangle layer and go to Blending Options.

First go to Inner Shadow and add the following.

Now add the following to Outer Glow.

And last add the Gradient Overlay use any dark gray as the brighter part of the gradient.

Next step is to make a new layer and make sure your foreground color is white and hold Ctrl and click the rectangle layer.

And now get the Rectangular Marquee tool and hold down Alt and minus off 80% of the rectangle.

Now take out the Paint bucket and fill it in. Deselect the moving lines, and lower the opacity of the white layer like so.

Next I took made a new layer underneath the glass effect and added a tech brush. If you don’t have any search around Deviant Art and you will find some there.

After that right click the layer go to Blending Options and add the following.

Now it should something similar to this.

Lets add the text now, click on the Type Tool and add your text.

Then add some effects add the following by right clicking the text layer and going to Blending Options
Drop Shadow

Bevel and Emboss

Gradient Overlay

Now duplicate your text layer and go to Edit>Transform>Flip Vertical and drag it down.

Now right click the upside down text and go to Rasterize Layer

Now go to Edit>Transform>Perspective. And drag out the bottom.

Then change the opacity of the lower text down to 29%

And you are finished.
