Today I will show you how to create a unique rainbow wallpaper. This is a quick and dirty tutorial.
Begin by opening a new document the size of your monitor display. Mine is 1920×1080 so you can go with my size if you like. Fill the layer with black. Then go to Filter > Render > Difference Clouds. Now using CTRL+F duplicate the filter 7 times.
Now go to Filter > Noise > Add Noise. Set the the percent to 155% hit OK.
Next go to Filter > Blur > Motion Blur. Set the radius to 90° and the distance to 999 and hit OK. Now using CTRL+F duplicate the filter 7 times.
Duplicate the layer then go back to the first. Next go to your blending options and select the gardient overlay. Select the Spectrum gradient color and set the angle to 180° and hit OK.
Next go to the copied layer and set the layer blend to Hard Light.
Make a new layer and fill it with black. Set the layer fill to 0% and add a gradient overlay. Set the overlay to Black to Transparent, check the reversed box, make the style reflected, the angle 90°, and the opacity to 90%.
Make a new layer. Then select your custom shape tool. Select the Registration Target 2. Drag out the shape. Next sacle the path so only the rays show and center the path. Commit the changes and go to your path pallette and CTRL+Click the work path layer to make a selection. Fill the selection with white. Next go to Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur and set the radius to 7 pixels. Finally set the layer blend to Overlay and the fill to 25%.
Make a new layer and fill it with black. Go to Filter > Render > Lens Flare. Place the flare in the center, choose 105mm Prime with a brigthness of 110%. Hit OK. Then set your layer blend to Hard Light and the fill to 50%. And you are finished.
Below are the 1920×1080 and 1600×1200 versions.
Send me a link to your version or a design inspired by this and I will post it here and link to your site.
