Create Pixel Diagonal Line Patterns – Really Cool!

Tuesday, September 16th, 2008
Text: Decrease Font Size Increase Font Size | Print Print Article | Share: Delicious Digg StumbleUpon Post to Twitter Post to Facebook

Example:

See the diagonal effect? That is what gives the image edge, I’ll be teaching you how to create it.

First off, Create a document – 3px by 3px

Next, zoom in and create a new transparent layer, delete the old background layer.

Now it gets good!

1. Select the colour black and the pencil tool, make sure its 1px by 1px. Now draw this:

2. Go to Edit > Define Pattern and enter your options.

3. Now you can use that pattern in what ever you like! Through the blending options or a layer, it doesn’t matter. To make it look good, always reduce the opacity to around 10% > 20%

Any questions, any suggestions for tutorials? Just comment! Cheers.
