Now unhide your other layer and you should have this

Now create another layer above those 2 and ctrl+click on the little icon beside the layer below it and it should make an outline around the shape

In the new layer we made fill in the highlighted circle with white

Next take your elliptical marquee tool to cut off part of the circle we just made so this is left

Add this gradient overlay to that

Now its time to add our stuff inside the globe.

I found a picture of a building at a free stock photo site

Take that picture and cut the building out of it any way you want It doesn’t have to be perfect just good enough to shrink down and put in the globe.

So put your build ling in so it fits nicely

Time to add snow.. create a new layer again above that one and pick this
brush

Use the color white of course and put snow all around the building

For the final touch use your current brush in a new layer and click once with it in a few spots to make it look like some stars. Then use a 3px brush set to scatter to make it look like its snowing. I also used my diamond gradient tool make a few bright star spots.

Now to give this more of an effect I added a shadow underneath the globe and I will show you how to give it some reflections to make it look more realistic.

First start a new layer and then on your keyboard hold down control and click on the little icon beside our main circle layer

It will make a selection around it like we did earlier. Next fill that with
black.

Then add these blending options to it

Inner Glow

Bevel and Emboss

Contour

Now merge that layer down and I usually do that by creating a new blank layer below it, then click in the layer that has the bevel and embossed circle, right click on it and hit merge down.

Duplicate that layer and set the top one to screen and the one below it to Linear Dodge and 30 percent opacity.

Here is my result

Alright for a final touch I am going to add a moon and santa clause flying in front of it with his reindeer! I hope you enjoyed this tutorial!
