Burnt Paper Effect

4. Lines & Text

For the lines, first of all make a new document, I used 1×21 pixels, in the center of the document make a 1 pixel black dot with the pencil tool.

I filled the document with the lines pattern, deleted any unwanted parts and centered them. You can either change the layer opacity for the lines or fill them with a color. I used 65% opacity or #595959.

The font I used for my text is called English it can be downloaded from here.
First of all I added some larger blue (#1b4894) text.

Apply the following Outer Glow to this text layer.
I added more, smaller, darker text.

That’s it for this tutorial. You now have a realistic piece of paper with a burnt edge. You can follow the same techniques to furhter burn other edges or to add this effect to other images. I hope you’ve enjoyed this Photoshop tutorial! You can also download the PSD from here.
