AT&T said today it will be holding its fifth annual “Open Call-Apps For All!” contest at the CTIA Wireless convention in Las Vegas March 23-24.
Developers of the best applications and content will receive cash prizes, exclusive marketing opportunities and earn the title of 2010 Open Call winner. The contest is divided into four categories: Brew Mobile Platform (BMP), Android, Java & RIM, and an “Open” category reviewing applications and content of all platforms. AT&T will award a total of $40,000 in cash prizes, $10,000 to a winner in each of the four categories.
The Open Call contest is open to any developer who want to present new applications that may find their way into the handsets of AT&T’s wireless customers. At Open Call, developers briefly present their applications to judges, who then decide if an individual application merits further consideration.
The deadline for submissions is midnight Pacific Time on March 1, 2010. Developers can enter only one contest category. An AT&T representative will contact presenters in early March to schedule the Open Call meetings. Those invited to present will have five minutes to pitch their applications to a panel of judges in private meeting rooms, with time for Q&A afterwards. Content and applications can be presented on a working handset or simulator, if needed.
