The self-proclaimed leader in the ASP.NET eCommerce space appears ready to pull even further ahead of its competitors. AspDotNetStorefront has offered merchants using another eCommerce platform special upgrade pricing and a data migration tool as incentives to join its side.
Dan Van Kuren, AspDotNetStorefront’s COO, explained his company’s move in a statement. “Merchants using the LaGarde Storefront.net platform have voiced concern that their online businesses are at the mercy of an e-commerce platform with a very uncertain future following their recent bankruptcy filing,” he said. “As such, we’ve announced initiatives to ease the transition to AspDotNetStorefront’s flagship ML product.”
Other AspDotNetStorefront draws include the facts that it’s PayPal- and Google Checkout-certified, allows for coupons and different languages, and is customizable in terms of appearance.
Since AspDotNetStorefront already serves around 6,000 developers and 10,000 customers, too, a shift shouldn’t be scary for anyone to make, and more than a few people are likely to switch allegiances. Given AspDotNetStorefront’s name, the process will hopefully give ASP.NET some positive publicity. Especially in light of the larger economic problem.
Current big-name AspDotNetStorefront customers include crocs.com, several Kodak sites, McDonald’s All American Store, and the PGA Tour Superstore.
