Like it or not, we live in a pretty superficial world, and apps that don’t look good aren’t going to receive as much attention as ones that do. So Apple developers may want to ensure their apps support full-screen resolution in preparation for a possible product announcement.
Rumors concerning an Apple tablet have been swirling for quite a while, and the product may finally materialize in January. Some tinkering on the part of developers would be necessary as a result.
Still, it sounds like screen size is about all developers have to worry about. An anonymous source informed Dan Frommer that Apple’s “told select developers that as long as they build their apps to support full screen resolution – rather than a fixed 320×480 – their apps should run just fine.”
So take the appropriate measures and be glad you’re not getting caught by surprise.
