Appcelerator said today it has grown its community to 50,000 Web and mobile developers.
The company estimates it will surpass 100,000 developers by the end of 2010.
“Clearly, developers were hungry for a development environment where they could easily leverage their existing web skills to quickly build fully native apps to run on many platforms,” remarked Jeff Haynie, CEO at Appcelerator.
“As the mobile market grows and new platforms emerge, Appcelerator will keep Titanium relevant, adding new features, fully leveraging the native capabilities of each platform, and expanding to support the most in-demand devices for helping developers reach their customers.”
Appcelerator’s open source Titanium platform allows developers to build rich, native applications using Web technologies for a variety of devices and platforms, including iPhone, Android, BlackBerry for mobile, iPad and desktop applications across PC, Mac and Linux.
