AdMob, the mobile ad firm recently acquired by Google has an interesting post on its blog talking about how paid advertising can help developers influence their App Store rank.
“Most iPhone developers understand the importance of App Store rank in driving organic app installs,” says AdMob’s Vicky H. “High position in the App Store means that users will be able to discover your app while browsing top apps either in category or in the store overall. This discoverability is the best way to grow a user base for your app quickly.”
Vicky talks about Fluent Mobile, the developer of the Fluent News Reader app, which partnered with AdMob on a marketing strategy, which kept them in the Top 10 of the free News category for over 8 months.
