As you may have heard, Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference sold out in less than a day, and secondhand tickets are now in some cases being hawked for more than $4,000. So if you’re looking for a more accessible Apple-related conference to attend, the MacTech Conference may provide an alternative.
The MacTech Conference, which is targeted at IT pros and developers, will take place from November 2nd through November 4th in Los Angeles. Early bird pricing starts at $799, and the normal cost is still just $999 if you somehow miss that window.
As for some other details, an official statement said, “The MacTech Conference will have two separate tracks: one focused on IT, and one focused on programming/development. With the acquisition of NSConference US, this year’s MacTech Conference will have an expanded Developer Track. Sessions will focus on both desktop and mobile, with appropriate levels of attention paid to Mac, iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.”
Neil Ticktin, Editor-in-Chief and Publisher of MacTech Magazine, also said, “In both the IT and developer communities, bonding with peers is amongst the top requests, and the MacTech Conference will be built to serve those wishes from the beginning.”
Have fun if you decide to go (and be sure to ask for the conference rate if you make a reservation at the Sheraton).
